A huge thank you and well done to everyone who helped, and took part, in this year’s Bournemouth Bay Run. Sunday 7th April saw over 3500 runners head down to Bournemouth’s seafront to compete in the 1k, 5k, 10k and half marathon, with many taking the opportunity to throw on a frilly tutu for the fairytale theme.
Stats for the day consisted of: 4 races, 1 Super Health-on-Line Man mascot running the 5K, and a huge amount of support for our two chosen charities from the 18 employees who ran for Health-on-Line, who raised over £2,100. An incredible amount which Health-on-Line will match; meaning over £4,200 going to our chosen charities, Dorset Mind and Dorset Children’s Foundation.
We also had over 50 volunteers helping in a variety of places -from the stand in the race village in Bournemouth gardens, handing out merchandise and inviting people to play our retro game created specifically for the Bay Run; our water station in Southbourne cheering the runners on and keeping them hydrated and our Beach clean, which took place at Boscombe pier.
Laura, Brand Executive for Health-on-Line said of the event: “We were very proud to be the title sponsor of this year’s Bournemouth Bay Run.
“Events such as this really bring people together and with over 3,500 runners and over 50 Health-on-Line employees getting involved, it certainly did just that!
“We had great interaction with runners and supporters at our stand in the race village where people were able to compete against each other in a digital running game to win prizes, take away merchandise and pose for photos with our popular mascot, Super Health-on-Line Man.
“We look forward to being part of such a successful event again in 2020 and continuing to support the local community.”
