Business Health

• In-patient hospital costs including accommodation, tests, surgery, drugs and dressings
• Specialist fees for surgeons, anaesthetists and physicians if you have treatment as an in-patient and a day-patient

• Hospital accommodation for one parent when their child under 16 is covered by the plan and is receiving eligible treatment

We won’t pay for cancer treatment. You’ll use the NHS instead, or pay for the treatment yourself. During treatment, if your specialist wants to use a licensed cancer drug which is approved for your treatment but that the NHS won’t pay for, we’ll pay for that drug and the cost of giving you the drug. (This doesn’t include out-patient drugs as they aren’t covered).

The same cover as ‘Treatment option with NHS Cancer Support’, plus we will pay for cancer treatment, including chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

No yearly limit for out-patient surgery.

Full Out-patient

• No yearly limit for specialist consultations with a Business Health specialist
• No yearly limit for diagnostic tests on specialist referral and practitioner fees

• No yearly limit on fees for out-patient treatment by physiotherapists, acupuncturists, homeopaths
  osteopaths or chiropractors
• Up to 10 sessions a year when your employee is referred by the Working Body team or a GP
• Extra sessions if your specialist refers you

• Private hospital and day-patient unit fees for psychiatric treatment, including accommodation, diagnostic tests and drugs. (This doesn’t include out-patient drugs as they aren’t covered by the plan.)

• Face-to-face, email or telephone counselling through our Stronger Minds support team with no need to see a GP first. Only counselling sessions arranged through Stronger Minds are covered by the plan. Employees must be over 18 years of age to use this service

• 80% of your dentist’s fees, up to £400 a year
• 80% of the cost of prescribed glasses and contact lenses, up to £200 a year
• Up to £25 a year for an eye test

• Extra cover for treatment at any hospital, day-patient unit or scanning centre in the UK that’s not listed in our Directory of Hospitals
• Extra cover for planned, pre-approved treatment outside of the UK
• Extra cover for a wider choice of fee-limited specialists
• No yearly limit for routine management of specified chronic conditions including: asthma, diabetes, epilepsy, high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid problems, angina, ulcerative colitis and heart valve problems

• Up to £500 a year for visits to a private GP for consultations

There are two levels of travel cover provided by AXA Health. These give cover towards emergency medical treatment abroad.

Employee Assistance Programme ( EAP) – Essential

• 24/7 phone support for psychological issues
• LifeManagement – help with legal, debt, family, consumer and housing concerns

Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – Premier

• Same as EAP Essential. In addition you’ll get up to eight sessions of face-to-face counselling, online live-chat, counselling and support for managers to meet day-to-day team responsibilities.

Choose an excess

Depending on what you choose for your plan, you may be able to reduce your annual subscription by including an excess of between £50 to £750 per employee.

Pay less for using specialists that we have sourced

If you choose our Guided option, your people will use our Fast Track Appointment service every time they need to see a specialist. We'll do the work for them - sourcing up to three specialists, who focus on their condition. We'll book the appointment they choose at a time and place that's right for them. This option can't be taken out with our Extended Cover option.

As with most healthcare cover, there are some elements your plan won’t cover. The exclusions will depend on the options you choose but here are some of the most significant exclusions:

• Treatment of medical conditions your employees had, or had symptoms of, before they joined, unless you’ve chosen a ‘continued medical exclusions’ or ‘medical history disregarded’ policy
• Routine pregnancy and childbirth
• Treatment of long-term, on-going or recurrent (chronic) conditions like diabetes or asthma
• Cosmetic treatment
