Health Insurance company, Health-on-Line raises an impressive £16,000 for Dorset-based food bank, Hope for Food by holding a charity Masquerade Ball at new Hilton Hotel.

On Saturday 30th January over 100 representatives from local businesses attended Health-on-Line’s charity Masquerade Ball & Auction in aid of Hope for Food at the newly launched Hilton Hotel in Bournemouth. In attendance were representatives from various businesses including local creative agency Fireworx, recruitment agency Bond Williams and private healthcare Company, Nuffield Health. Attendees were invited to slip on a mask and join Health-on-Line in the Hilton’s Grand Ballroom for a night of dinner, dancing and fundraising in aid of Hope for Food.

The theme was selected to highlight Hope for Food’s mission of helping individuals who hide behind masks in everyday life, and hoping families that may not have an obvious need to overcome the challenges they are facing. The evening aimed to raise £8,000 to enable Hope For Food to buy a bigger van, meaning the number of families who benefited from food parcels distributed by Hope For Food was able to increase.

As part of the evening’s events guests were asked to take part in a charity auction and bid on array of attractive prizes that had been kindly donated by local businesses.

Charity auction prizes available on the night ranged from a three night luxury holiday in either Barcelona or Marbella, kindly donated by luxury travel operator Destinology, to a signed pair of boots from professional footballer player Adam Lallana.

Fundraising activities continued throughout the night with guests being invited to take part in a ‘Prize in Disguise’, by purchasing a mask for £50 to win a mystery prize. Prizes ranged from a family ticket to theme park Drayton Manor, kindly donated by the theme park operator, to a Porsche driving experience at Silverstone.

The night also included entertainment supplied by Mayfair Casino in the form of a roulette table and jack black table with guests managing to raise a further £400 for the charity.

All fundraising activities on the night were tremendously successful and with the Hilton Hotel kindly donating a 10% of the wine bill Health-on-Line were able to double their initial target of £8,000 and raise an incredible £16,000 for Hope for Food.
